من أكثر النقاط إثارة للإنتباه في دستور المدينة هي العلاقة مع اليهود, فجميع قبائل اليهود تم اعتبارهم من أمة المدينة ككيان واحد ولهم دينهم وللمسلمين دينهم.

"اتفق معظم الباحثين علي أصالة وصحة توثيق دستور المدينة"

"The Medina Constitution also instituted peaceful methods of dispute resolution among diverse groups living as one people but without assimilating into one religion, language, or culture ." [3]r

تضمن دستور المدينة بنود سلمية علي الرغم من التعدد الموجود بين طوائف مجتمع المدينة واعتبرهم جميعا أمة واحدة لا تقتصر علي دين أو لغة أو ثقافة واحدة.

"Welch in Encyclopedia of Islam states: "The constitution reveals his Muhammad's great diplomatic skills, for it allows the ideal that he cherished of an umma (community) based clearly on a religious outlook to sink temporarily into the background and is shaped essentially by practical considerations. لقد أظهر هذا الدستور كيف امتلك محمد (صلي الله عليه وسلم) مهارات دبلوماسية فذة, وذلك من خلال استخدام لفظ أمة بكل وضوح مع دمجها بمظهر ديني وصهر وتشكيل قاعدة مشتركة للمجتمع وذلك من بنود الدستور العملية القابلة للتنفيذ.
